Intensive Outpatient Program

The first step to beating addiction is finding help, and Banyan Massachusetts is here to do just that. With various levels of addiction care, our mission is to help men and women of all ages and walks of life put addiction behind them to become the best version of themselves. Quality treatment requires quality planning, and this of course means the necessity of individualized treatment programs.

Levels of addiction range for each person, and that means treatment options should too. Based on results from a preliminary treatment assessment which considers addiction level, substance used, mental and physical state, an individualized treatment program will be designed to fit the immediate needs of the client. Combing knowledge, experience, and expertise from a team of doctors, nurses, case managers, and therapists, Banyan Massachusetts Treatment Center may recommend that the client attends an intensive outpatient program.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Boston allows for an added level of flexibility as compared to a partial hospitalization program. An IOP works to help former addicts maintain sobriety after treatment, with a minimum requirement of 9 hours a week. Although this level of care has a less strict time requirement per week, it provides supplementary therapy for those who are not yet ready to become a part of a standard outpatient setting.

Who benefits from IOP treatment?

  • A patient that prefers to seek treatment while balancing the normalcy of their home and work life. Patients at Banyan’s Boston IOP can remain an active part of their home and work life, including attending work, spending time with family, enjoying healthy hobbies, and relaxing in the comfort of their own home.
  • Someone who may not meet the requirements for inpatient care, but is still seeking treatment from a supportive environment.
  • Anyone on the addiction treatment continuum, hoping to maintain a stable, sober lifestyle. A slightly lessened time requirement should never mean less access to quality care. Enrolling in our IOP in Boston gives each client the access to a wide array of support from within our facility. At Banyan, members of our IOP program receive full treatment from therapists, doctors, group counselors, and clinicians, as well as meetings which enrich coping skills in a real-world environment.
